Easy Marinara Sauce

  • 1 can of crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can of tomato sauce
  • 1 clove of garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon of crushed red pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of basil
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar.
  • 1 bay leaf


  • Add tomatoes to a medium sauce pan and set heat to medium.
  • Stir in the minced garlic, crushed red pepper and oregano and.
  • Stir in basil, onion powder, salt, pepper and sugar.
  • Drop in the bay leaf, cover the pot and heat at medium-low setting for a minimum of 20 minutes.
  • The longer this cooks the more flavorful it will be.
  • Taste the sauce periodically and adjust the seasoning to suit your taste.
