Gluten Free Peppermint Bark Recipe
Gluten Free Peppermint Bark Recipe
Do you need a gluten free holiday treat? Well, I did since my husband is gluten free. I wanted something that was quick and easy to make. I needed something that looked pretty and tasted great. I also wanted something the kids could help me with. This gluten free peppermint bark was the answer and it takes just minutes to make.
Ingredients:
Crushed candy canes, to yield 1 cup
2 pounds white chocolate
Peppermint flavorings, optional if you choose but 1/4 tsp if you are adding it
parchment paper
Directions:
Put 4 cups of water in a pot and bring it to a boil. Then put the double broiler on top. Add the 2 lbs of white chocolate in the double broiler.
Pour the chocolate on the parchment paper
In a bag or on a cutting board smash the candy canes.
Then on the warm chocolate sprinkle the candy canes.
Place this in the refrigerator for 40 minutes or until they are hard.
Then I break mine into pieces by hand but you could use a mallet.
There are a lot of variations you could do 1lb of white chocolate and one of milk chocolate. You could use different flavor candy canes.
We love this recipe and we have made it several different ways. Once you have the basics down you can go ahead and make fancy versions. I love to lay a layer of ritz crackers down for my friends who aren’t gluten free. Then pour the white chocolate on top. Then you can do a layer of the milk chocolate and the peppermint. The truth is the holidays are about making memories and creating traditions. We had to make this for Santa because it turns out he is laying off all the gluten this year!

I feel like I got a great head start this year. I had the tree up and the decorations up the day after Thanksgiving. That has never happened before. I’m in full panic mode. Where did this month go??! :O
I read in your latest post though you’re pretty much caught up. That’s awesome. I’m still freaking out! Ha ha. I have never made peppermint bark before though every year I say I will and I have not made this bark yet. Well, maybe since I’m short on time for shopping, I’ll bake this for sure
